Easter Camps a Success

Palazzo Easter Sports Camps a Massive Success

Over the two weeks of the Easter school holidays Uddingston Hockey Club ran sports camps and for the first time included fun activities and sports on top of hockey with view of opening camps up to more children that might not normally attend.

As well as fun and performance level hockey the camps also included fun level tennis and football plus NERF wars that seemed to be of particular interest to most including the coaches.

Over the two weeks of camps we averaged 60 kids per day with a total of 118 different children attending throughout with the sun even coming out on a few of the days, which warranted sun tan lotion having to be dug out for the first time in 2019 to say the least.

Each day was split into two hour sessions and within each session the children could pick to take part in single or all activities so across the full day or week they could basically pick and mix as they liked, which seemed to go down well with majority of kids.

The focus of the camps as always was on fun, health & wellbeing and of course making friends, which was in plentiful supply across both weeks particularly on the Rosso day when food was provided to all campers and coaches free of charge by Rosso, Bothwell.

The club would like to congratulate all the campers on their good behaviour across both weeks plus a massive thanks to the Sports Camps main sponsor Palazzo Kitchens & Bathrooms, our water bottles sponsor Rathbones, our NERF sponsor Douglas Park BMW and Rosso, Bothwell for provision of food as without everyone’s support we couldn’t have such great camps.

Our next planned sports camps will be over the summer school holidays with 6 weeks to choose from starting Monday 1st July and running till Friday 9th August with bookings page opening soon.
