Uddingston Hockey Club Manager Announced

Uddingston Hockey Club Manager Announced

Uddingston Hockey Club are delighted to announce another first for the club by announcing their new employee Emma Little as the first Club Manager in charge of the non-playing side of the club who will work alongside Director of Hockey, Harry Dunlop with both feeding into the club committee and reporting directly to the President.

For many years the club like every other club have been swamped by the amount of administration that is now involved in running a club and in turn it passed onto volunteers and coaches to do along with their other club duties that in turn diluted the impact on the clubs playing and coaching sides.

Therefore, on review of all the duties that require to be covered we decided it was a very worthwhile allocating the required budget to have someone in overall charge of the non-playing side of the club that would in turn allow others to focus all their efforts on the playing and coaching side of the club.

Prior to joining the club Emma has achieved a Professional Development Award and Bachelor of Arts degree, with court award, in event management whilst working in various capacities throughout the club. She has developed and delivered a variety of events throughout Scotland however whilst completing her degree developed a passion for sports management that we feel will be ideal experience for leading the non-playing side of our club as we continue to grow and develop in the coming years.

Director of Hockey Harry Dunlop commented “I am delighted to welcome Emma to the team and particularly happy to have someone to oversee the on playing side of the club that will in turn allow myself and my coaching team to focus fully on the playing and coaching side of the club”.

Vice President David Goodfellow commented “This appointment is yet another great addition to our professional team and one we thought long and hard about however when Emma became available, we knew it was the right time to put the post in place”.
