Umpire Test Results are In......

In line with the club's ambition to have all players who play performance hockey for our Gents and Ladies 1s or 2s at least Level 1 Umpire badged, we are delighted to congratulate the 15 most recent players who have now completed their L1 umpire theory test and now just need to work towards their test match.

These include Josie O’Brien, Sophie Ross, Anna McWilliams, Kirsty Wratten, Rachel Thomson, Alicia Muir, Andrew Lochrin, Hamish Robson, Chris Boyle, Martin McIntosh, Bein Wilson, Jamie Wilson, Graeme Haxton, Lewis Angus & Iain Scott.

Once these 15 players are fully badged this will then see us with a total of 57 badged members across the full club.

Plans are also in place to start the process to get our next crop of 20 volunteers Level one badged during 2020 with all very welcome to join in, plus we are now looking to carry out the Youth Umpire Award with our youth performance squads to start the umpire development process as early as possible #wegrowumpires.

Special thanks should go to West District Umpires Association and their testers for all their support plus our own hard-working Umpire Development team Jacqui McDove, Fraser Bell, Martin Clark, Andy Meikle and Tom White. Well done to all those involved.

If you are are a player or a parent and interested in Umpiring please speak to Jacqui or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as all welcome no matter your experience.

Clinetix Rejuvenation Uddingston Ladies Win First Silverware

On Saturday Uddingston Hockey Club’s ladies Indoor 1st Team Players and Coaches visited their Sponsor Clinetix Rejuvenation’s new clinic at 20 Hamilton Road, Bothwell (G71 8NA) to show them the silverware they won the weekend prior for winning the Scottish Hockey National League Indoor Division Three title.

The girls dominated their league this season by going unbeaten and scoring over 100 goals in the process, which also see’s them gain promotion to National League Indoor Division Two next season with the aim of playing in the top indoor division within the next few seasons.

In terms of the outdoor season that stopped for its winter break in November to allow for the indoor season this resumes with a double header next weekend with the girls travelling to play Aberdeen University ladies on Saturday and ESM ladies on Sunday, which may go a long way to determining the outcome of the 2019/20 title.

The ladies resume the second half of their National League Division 2 league campaign sitting top of the table, plus a game in hand and are very much focused on gaining promotion to National League Outdoor Division One that would see our ladies compete next season in the top division in Scotland for the first time in the clubs history.

Plus they are also enjoying a run in the Scottish Cup with a last eight match away to ESM Ladies on Sunday 8th March, which again is a first for our ladies section.

Therefore this season looks like creating history either way for our ladies with a special thanks going to our very supportive sponsor Clinetix Rejuvenation who have supported our ladies section for many years now as it has grown to 4 teams strong and hopefully soon playing in the top leagues in Scotland and maybe one day in European competitions also.

If you are interested in playing hockey at any level our junior section ranges from 4 years to 16 years (boys & girls) or any of our 10 senior ladies and gents teams that cater for all abilities and ages we are always looking for new players with all newcomers and beginners very welcome.

Welcome to the team, Zoe Sinclair!

Clinetix Rejuvenation Uddingston Hockey Ladies section are delighted to announce the signing of former Scotland Under 21 internationalist Zoe Sinclair.

Zoe spent two seasons (2014-2016) at Western Wildcats before taking on the role of Player/Coach of Hillhead Ladies 1XI during the 2018-2019 season. Zoe has represented Scotland at every age group level, and has competed in the Four Nations and European II Championships. She is currently the Assistant Coach of the Scotland Under 16 Ladies, and previously held the role of Head Coach of the South-West District Under 14-18s.

Speaking about joining Uddingston, Zoe said: “I had my first session on Monday and I left feeling super excited about what is to come for the squad and myself.  At Uddingston I know I can be a part of a team that plays attacking hockey, without rules or restrictions - complete shackles off hockey - which is what attracted me here! The enthusiasm Harry and Adam have for the club is obvious, and the atmosphere at training and the results reflect that. I can't wait to properly get started!"

Ladies Assistant Coach Adam McInnes commented: “Harry and I are delighted to have attracted a player of Zoe’s calibre to Uddingston, and her arrival represents a significant statement of intent for the Club. I have known Zoe for a number of years, and have huge respect for her achievements as both a player and a coach. Zoe will be an enormous asset to the Club both on and off the pitch, and I look forward to working with her over the rest of this season and in the years to come.”

Zoe will play her first game for Uddingston on Tuesday 11th February, in a rearranged National Division Two match against Kelburne at Glasgow Green as the ladies continue their drive towards National League Division One.
